More than 100 families gathered Monday morning for an event designed to connect them with valuable resources and opportunities throughout the community.
The 91直播 World Languages Department, in collaboration with the 91直播 Multilingual Welcome Center, hosted the 鈥淏ringing Together Emergent Bilinguals鈥 event, part of the district鈥檚 ongoing commitment to support families and strengthen partnerships with community organizations.
Families arrived eager to learn about programs and services available to them. Throughout the morning, they met with community partners who shared information on a wide variety of resources designed to support both students and parents.
Participants explored opportunities and services including: job opportunities, GED and high school credit programs, adult ESL and English language courses, early childhood education services, the Mothers and Babies Program, Safe Riders training, healthcare and counseling services, medical equipment, school supplies, vouchers for free bags of meals, and more.
鈥淭hroughout the event, families were actively engaged, taking notes, asking thoughtful questions, scheduling follow-up appointments, and connecting with one another,鈥 said Dr. Jackeline Orsini, 91直播 Director of World Languages. 鈥淢any families expressed gratitude for the opportunity to access so many resources in one place and appreciated聽the support from聽the district and community partners. We are proud of a school district that goes above and beyond the experiences created in our classrooms, as we truly believe that partnership with families and the community is a critical component of every child鈥檚 success.鈥
