U.S. News & World Report has ranked four 91ֱ�� high schools among the best in America.

�ճ������list, a national recognition awarded to campuses that��demonstrate��outstanding academic achievement and student success, includes Arlington Collegiate High School, Arlington College and Career High School, Martin High School, and Seguin High School.

For the 91ֱ��’s two early college high schools – Arlington Collegiate and Arlington College and Career – the honor is welcome but not surprising.

“We are excited for this honor because it shows those outside our campus the hard work our teachers and students put in every day at Arlington Collegiate High School,” said Arlington Collegiate Principal Jeff Krieger.

The two early college high schools – where students complete high school and an associate degree at the same time – are known statewide for their academic excellence. In fact, in Texas, approximately 40% of students at early college high schools graduate with their high school diploma and an associate degree. In the 91ֱ��, more than 90% of our students achieve both.

Excellence is what 91ֱ��’s traditional high schools are all about, too.

“A�� #SeguinNation, ‘Where Excellence is the Standard,’ we are grateful for all of our stakeholders – students, staff, and parents – who played a role in achieving this honor,” said Seguin Principal Billy Linson.

Martin High School Principal Marlene Roddy is proud of the recognition, too, but is focused on the future.

“We are proud of the work by our staff and students who are at the heart of this accomplishment,” Roddy said. “We will continue to set goals that address student achievement and success with the hopes that we can sustain our mission and momentum in future years.”

91ֱ��’s Board of Trustees will formally honor these four high schools at tonight’s school board meeting, Thursday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m.,��at the��91ֱ�� Administration Building. The principals will accept the honor on behalf of their schools.��

U.S. News & World Report��evaluated more than 24,000 public high schools across the country. Rankings were based on key measures of excellence, including college readiness, state assessment performance, curriculum breadth, underserved student outcomes, and graduation rates. Schools that score in the top 40% nationally earn the distinguished honor of displaying the official U.S. News award badge.��
